On 26 January 2026, Estaleiro Enseada, located in Maragogipe (BA), delivered 13 mineral barges to LHG Mining, each with capacity of up to 2,900 tonnes. The vessels are part of a broader contract for 80 barges, linked to an inland logistics program designed to support mineral transportation along Paraguai–Paraná Waterway.
The project is supported by financing from Fundo da Marinha Mercante (FMM) via BNDES and integrates a wider investment plan of approximately R$ 3.7 billion, including barges and pushboats built by Brazilian shipyards. Deliveries contributed to reactivation of Enseada’s industrial operations, generating an estimated 600 direct and up to 900 indirect jobs, reinforcing recovery of Brazil’s naval construction sector.
