Campo de Búzios: projects

Petrobras is preparing to launch a new tender for the Búzios 12 project later this semester, according to a Reuters report. The contract will follow the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model and cover the deployment of a new FPSO with a production capacity of up to 180,000 barrels of oil per day and 5.5 million cubic meters of gas daily.

The company already operates six FPSOs in the Búzios field, P-74, P-75, P-76, P-77, Almirante Barroso, and the recently added Almirante Tamandaré, highlighting the field’s strategic value. The latest unit has a capacity of 225,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day and can process up to 12 million cubic meters of gas.

According to ANP data, Búzios averaged 932,000 barrels per day in 2024, making it the seventh-largest producing field in Brazil. Petrobras is targeting 1 million barrels per day by the end of 2025 and aims to reach 1.5 million by 2030.
