Cobeia, a multi-purpose supply vessel recently arrived in Brazil through a partnership between Shipowner CMM and Perenco, has officially started operations for the Independent Oil Company. After going through a few specific adaptations, Cobeia is now engaged in support activities for the development of the Pargo Cluster, including installation of three new pipelines and starting the operation of the new FSO Pargo. She will also compose Pargo’s Environmental Emergency Plan as an Oil Spill Response Vessel (OSRV). The vessel was further engaged in some jobs for Perenco in West Africa, before heading to Brazilian waters. Cobeia is yet another supply vessel to find long term work in Brazil under a foreign flag, indicating the high utilization and low availability of similar national tonnage.
