Equinor has contracted Saipem to install the gas pipeline for the Raia project, Campos Basin, around 200 km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro. The Italian company will have to provide the offshore transportation and installation of the underwater gas export line and associated equipment, at depths of around
2.900 meters. Saipem will use the Castorone vessel for the work. In September, Equinor presented the commerciality declarations and development plan for two natural gas fields (Raia Manta and
Raia Pintada), both in the Campos Basin. The company is the main operator of the field, with a 35% stake. The gas will be transported through the gas pipeline to be installed.
