Investments & Innovation – Rio Pipeline and FPSOs

The Rio Pipeline & Logistics 2025 kicked off yesterday (November 9), bringing together leaders from the pipeline, transport and logistics sectors in Rio de Janeiro.

Organized by the Brazilian Institute of Oil and Gas (IBP), the event runs until Thursday (November 11). At the opening session, IBP President Roberto Ardenghy highlighted the inclusion of logistics in the program and reinforced the importance of an integrated view of the energy chain. One of the major announcements was an investment plan of up to BRL 29 billion in infrastructure.

Energy transition, technological innovation and the expansion of the gas pipeline network are also at the center of discussions.

Meanwhile, BW Energy has secured a USD 365 million financing package to refurbish and relocate the FPSO Maromba in the Campos Basin. First oil is expected by the end of 2027, with average production estimated at 60,000 boed. The financing, provided by a consortium of international banks, will cover around 80% of the project cost.
